Scheduled Care
Appointments and respite shifts are scheduled in advance and depend on staff availability.
Tender Care understands that family circumstances can change unexpectedly. These guidelines help families know what to expect before, during and after scheduled care.
Families are encouraged to provide as much notice as possible whenever a scheduled service needs to change.
Appointments and respite shifts are scheduled in advance and depend on staff availability.
Families should provide at least 24 hours’ notice whenever possible when cancelling a scheduled service.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee as outlined in the family’s service agreement.
Emergency situations will be considered individually and handled with compassion and reasonable flexibility.
Families are asked to communicate if they will be late for a scheduled pickup or handover.
Requests for additional hours or changes to scheduled care depend on availability and must be confirmed by Tender Care Respite Services.
Clear notice allows Tender Care to plan responsibly, protect staff availability and keep expectations transparent for families.

Tender Care’s exact legal service scope depends on its Alberta business setup, applicable licensing or regulatory obligations, staff training, insurance, permissions and the needs of the child.
Personal care should only be offered when appropriate training, permissions, insurance and any applicable regulatory requirements are in place.
Transportation should only be provided when suitable authorization, insurance, safety arrangements and any applicable requirements are in place.
Medication-related support should only be offered when the appropriate training, permissions, procedures and safeguards are in place.
Support involving complex medical needs should only be offered where Tender Care is appropriately trained, equipped, insured and permitted to provide the requested care.
Any specialized support should be discussed before booking so suitability, qualifications and required safeguards can be considered.
A family service agreement can outline the details that apply to that family, including scheduling, fees, responsibilities, expectations and any agreed care arrangements.
Where a family service agreement contains more specific terms, those terms should be reviewed carefully and discussed directly with Tender Care.
Review the Family Intake information or contact Tender Care directly if anything in the scheduling or service-scope guidance is unclear.
